The art of smoked salmon
100% Scottish Salmon
We use only the finest salmon from The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) for our Smoked Scottish Salmon. Each fillet is hand-cured, gently smoked and packaged in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis to maintain unrivalled freshness.
Our Artisanal Smokers hand cure, gently smoke in pebble lined kilns and package our Native Hebridean and Harris & Lewis Smoked Scottish Salmon – combining traditional methods and hand-crafted attention to detail with modern, state-of-the-art facilities and processes.
The Harris & Lewis Smokehouse is embedded in some of Scotlands most breathtaking scenery. The picture to the right is of Mangersta Bay on the Isle of Lewis. This Bay can also be found on our front of pack for our delicious tasting Harris & Lewis Smoked Scottish Salmon.
The Art of Smoked Salmon
Along with crafting our unique tasting smoked Scottish Salmon, the local surroundings are also of significant importance to us at the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse. To capture the spirit of Harris & Lewis we worked with the eminent artist Vega. Capturing the essence of the surrounding scenery through her artwork, Vega’s painting Wild Mangurstadh Bay (Mangersta Bay, Isle of Lewis) can be seen on the front of our smoked Scottish Salmon packaging. Which pays a tribute to the waters where our salmon are raised.
After years of travelling the world's continents working on her craft. Vega now resides on the Isle of Lewis where the breath-taking surroundings are the inspiration for the art on her canvases. As an avid sailor, Vega has travelled the very water where our salmons are raised linking her travels to our tail at the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse.
